We where working in the Appropriate Technology Department workshop on a rustic handcrafted LED lamp. Clemens, a very active volunteer, brought his camera to take some pictures.                 We where using strips of 1 watt 12 volts LED, using a cordless drill battery to power them. The light they produce is intense, brilliant, powerful. We saw another possibility of using this light source…. We set an authentic LED saber, or a light paintbrush if you are not a Star Wars fan. We started to shoot pictures inside the workshop with a long time of exposure while painting in the air with the light brush. The results where amazing. So, we decide prepare and offer an activity in the evening for sharing the fun with our mates. We started doing inside light painting, in the main house, under the arc of the study area. The ability and creativity of each trying to paint was increasing, obtaining  very nice pictures. Our most exotic volunteers wrote in arabic, chines and, even, tamil alphabets. When it got dark outside, we moved our stage and started another photo session. Here we got a set of amazing pictures. Estábamos trabajando en el taller de Tecnología Apropiada en un lámpara artesanal utilizando diodos LED como fuentes de luz. Clemens, un voluntario muy activo, trajo su cámara para tomar algunas fotos.

Estábamos usando tiras de LEDs de 1 W y 12 Voltios, alimentados por una batería de 12 voltios de un taladro sin cable.

La luz que producían es brillante, potente e intensa. Vimos otra posibilidad de uso para esta luz…

Preparamos un auténtico sable LED, o un pincel de luz para los que no seáis fan de la Guerra de las Galaxias.

LED saber for light painting

Empezamos a disparar fotos dentro del taller con un tiempo largo de exposición mientras pintábamos en el aire con el pincel de luz.

Los resultados fueron fantásticos.

Decidimos preparar y ofrecer una actividad al atardecer para compartir la diversión con los compañeros. Empezamos a pintar con la luz en el interior de la casa principal, debajo del arco de la zona de estudio. La habilidad y creatividad de cada intento para pintar fue subiendo, obteniendo fotos guapísimas. Nuestros más exóticos voluntarios escribieron textos en alfabeto árabe, chino e incluso tamil.

Cuando oscureció en la calle, desplazamos nuestro escenario y empezamos una sesión de fotos nueva. Aquí obtuvimos unas tomas impresionantes.
